Formed as an NGO, with an aim to preserve traditional culture and folkore along the banks of the Bharathapuzha in Kerala. Today, Vayali is one of the foremost exponents of folk songs and art, with over 600 performances in Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, Bombay and various other locations. It also supports traditional artisans in the region by providing them with newer markets.
Mission: To preserve and nurture traditions along the banks of the Bharathapuzha in Kerala.

Products: Folk songs and dance,Handmade eco products from traditional artists in Kerala, and the unique Bamboo Orchestra which uses only instruments made out of bamboo.

Specify any other issue or news item you want to learn more about (biodiversity, bonded labour and human trafficking, climate change, ecology, economic development, ethnobotany, ethnomedicine, global warming, hunter-gatherers in a particular region or state, prevention of rural poverty, water access).

For official figures include “scheduled tribe ST” along with a union state or region: e.g. “Chhattisgarh ST community”, “Himalayan tribe”, “Scheduled tribe Tamil Nadu census”, “ST Kerala census”, “Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Group Jharkhand”, “PVTG Rajasthan”, “Adivasi ST Kerala”, “Adibasi ST West Bengal” etc.
