From flora to fauna these parks will house rare herbs, insects, birds and reptiles living in harmony and be the best resource for learning and conservation at the school. Water
Elixir of Life poisoned is a major cause of concern. Modern India’s approach to conservation of freshwater bodies needs an immediate relook. We consider our water bodies as just water holding structures. However, these are important lifelines that is home to several different species. We at E.F.I aim at motivating the larger public in understanding, adopting and conserving our water bodies.
Lake Restoration Efforts
The organization’s principal focus has been on adopting, scientifically reviving and ecologically restoring freshwater lakes and ponds across the country. E.F.I has worked on 431 water bodies across 18 states in the country since its inception in 2007. […]
Rural water bodies
Not just Urban water bodies, E.F.I also extends its efforts to several rural water bodies. This includes the restoration of the Kinhi-Gadegaon Reservoir in Maharashtra, Mittanamalli Lake Vadalur Serakuppam Lake, Kurunjipadi Lake, Tirunelveli-Keezh Ambur Lake, Pettai Lake, Navule Kere in Shivamogga, system ponds at Uthiramerur, Girivala Padhai ponds at Tiruvannamalai, Pei Kulam at Tuticorin, and more.Voluntary clean ups at Urban Water bodies
Madambakkam, Adambakkam, Ayanambakkam, Mudichur, Perumbakkam, Sithalapakkam Lakes in Chennai. Hebbal, Devasandra, Kithaganur Lakes in Bengaluru. Kapra, Gangaram Cheruvu, Gurunadham Cheruvu, Old Hafeezpet lakes in Hyderabad. Sanjay Lake at Trilokpuri in Delhi. Nalbhan Behri in Kolkata, Bandukeshwar Lake in Mumbai, Pashan Lake in Pune, Dimna Lake in Jamshedpur, Karimadom Colony Pond-Veli Lake in Trivandrum are water bodies where E.F.I organizes regular volunteering efforts for the general public. We are positive that we will work with the government in completely reviving these water wonders one day.

In 1911, the American poet and novelist James Oppenheim wrote the now infamous poem “Bread and Roses“, inspired by the women’s suffrage activist Helen Todd. Working as a factory inspector for the state of Illinois, Todd spent her days listening to women’s accounts of low pay, inequality, and the drudgery of their work. Along with four other women from the Chicago Women’s Club, an association of wealthy middle-class women that had recently established some of the first kindergartens in Chicago, Todd began organising Illinois automobile workers for women’s right to vote in the summer of 1910. Inspired by a discussion she had with a young woman the night before giving a speech, Todd pronounced that the women’s “vote will go toward helping forward the time when life’s Bread, which is home, shelter and security, and the Roses of life, music, education, nature, and books, shall be the heritage of every child that is born in the country“. More than 70 years after the Seneca Falls convention declared women’s universal suffrage as its goal, the seemingly impossible became inevitable, and in 1920 Congress past the Nineteenth amendment to the US Constitution.
