Just a year after its launch, the Indigenous Art Commercial Code of Conduct is gathering strength and influence.
The Indigenous Art Code is encouraging fair and ethical behaviour in the trading of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art.
The code sets down clear standards for how dealers should treat artists and provides a fair process for dealing with cases of unethical behaviour.
The private not-for-profit company that administers the code, Indigenous Art Code Limited, is known as IartC. IartC believes the code is generating better understanding of what professional conduct is. […]
