“Indigenous Wisdom”: Webinar on the occasion of Indigenous Day – West Bengal

“The goal is to prepare some model students in our villages, so that others will be inspired to follow them.” – Boro Baski in Long-term success of non-formal Adivasi school in West Bengal

Information and the link about the on-line discussion scheduled on 9th August 2020.

To celebrate World Indigenous Day, Kolkata Centre for Creativity in association with Museum of Santal Culture, Bishnubati will initiate pertinent dialogues on India’s indigenous tribal communities. It is impressive how they have been carrying with them, through the intergenerational exchange, wisdom for thousands of years.

Our endeavour ‘Indigenous Wisdom,’ featuring Dr Mita Chakrabarty, former Deputy Keeper & In-charge at the Anthropology Section, Indian Museum | Dr Boro Baski, head at Museum of Santal Culture, Bishnubati,  & Mr Gokul Hansda, Teacher, will cast light on the cultural life & artistic expression of the Santal community & how their idea of sustainable living bridges the gap between humans & nature.
Date: August 9
